Celebrate the Jubilee!

 An updated schedule for the Golden Jubilee posted online at www.bridgeportdiocese.org.  Each parish has a Golden Jubilee Coordinator to publicize events and provide more information. Save these dates, and join in the celebration!  Penance Services will. be held at all 87 parishes in the Diocese of Bridgeport throughout the Season of Lent..

The following Penance Services, with Bishop Lori presiding, have been scheduled in each Vicariate (region) of the Diocese:

 

. Tuesday, March 11, 6 p.m., Saint Mary Parish,  Stamford

. Wednesday, March 19,7:30 p.m., Saint Philip  Parish, Norwalk

. Tuesday, March 25, 7:30 p.m., Saint Patrick Parish, Bridgeport

. Tuesday, April 1, 7:30 p.m., Saint Theresa Parish, Trumbull

. Tuesday, ApriI8, 7:30 p.m., Saint Joseph Parish,  Brookfield

Eucharistic Adoration will be hosted daily by a designated parish, Catholic school, or ministry from Easter Sunday, April 20, until the Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 22. Check the diocesan website or contact each location for the local Eucharistic Adoration schedule.

Golden Jubilee Lecture

Msgr. Lorenzo Albacete of the Archdiocese, of Washington will speak on "Hispanic Presence in the United States and its implications for the Catholic Church." He will speak in Spanish and English.


Sunday May 4, 3-7 p.m.

Catholic Center, Bridgeport

Youth Rally

Young people from around the Diocese will. gather for faith, fellowship, and fun.  Father Stan Fortuna, CER, will tf1ke part in the event.


Wednesday, September 17, 7:30 p.m.

Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Greenwich

Golden Jubilee Lecture,

His Eminence, Avery Cardinal Dulles, will speak.


Sunday, September 28, 3p.m.

Harbor Yard Arena, Bridgeport

Golden Jubilee Mass and Celebration

This will be a family event, a celebration of the entire community of tile Diocese, and all the ethnic: and cultural groups represented in Fairfield County,


Friday-Sunday, October  3-5

Diocesan Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of The Immaculate

Conception in Washington, D.C.,  Led by Bishop Lori.

During" October 2003. Communal anointing of the Sick will take place in our three Diocesean nursing homes, with Bishop Lori presiding.  Each parish will also be encouraged to hold its own anointing

Bishop Donald W. Wuerl of Pittsburgh, PA will be the keynote speaker.

Saint Augustine Cathedral, Bridgeport

Rededication of Saint Augustine Cathedral on the 50th anniversary of the First Bishop of Bridgeport


Coming in 2004:

Human Love in the Devine Plan: A Conference on Pope John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body.”  Dates and location to be announced.
